Want to
know more about "Endless Mark III"?
Endless Mark III (EM3) is an entirely pre-rendered video game. We
decided to do pre-rendered because we don't know of another RPG like
ours that is entirely pre-rendered and we'd like to be innovative and
original. Pre-rendering also helps with EM3's overall graphics as well.
EM3 supports turn based combat similar to that of traditional Japanese
RPG's turn based combat. However, we have implemented several new
features that we have not seen in other RPGs. One we call "hit
reaction", it's a mechanic that is fresh to RPGs and we hope will
make turn based combat more innovative. Another mechanic that we're
excited to implement is character relationships. Character relationships
play a huge role in how your party works together as a unit. If some
party members don't get along your team will suffer, but don't fret
we've also made numerous quests in the game to build and discover
relationships between the party members. However it's all up to the main
party leader as to what quests you may go on and experience...it's
entirely under your control so have fun with it or don't it's your
decision.
Party members are very important in EM3, they are your companions
through the entire game and there is a lot you can find out about them.
Go on quests to discover their pasts and watch them grow with your main
character. You can switch party members at various times in EM3,
"You think that guy with the nun chucks is cool? Go invite him to
your party!" You decide who will accompany you through your
journey, but don't forget whatever you do in your first play through
effects your next play through. So if you picked Warren
from the start and kept him through the entire journey remember when you
play through again he won't be available for another party leader.
There are 15+ party members to choose from while playing, each of them
have their own robust story that you can explore. They all have their
own skills and techniques so try to combine the best group of people for
your specific party leader and see what experiences and combat bonuses
you can get! We're also working on an interesting way to freshen up
towns. We feel they shouldn't just be run through they should have more
for the player to do in them, we want your experiences in the town to
effect it's economy. Also if you run into a boss in a town don't expect
it to look undamaged.
Why is it called Endless Mark III?
Originally EM3 was the third installment of a series going from the end
to the beginning. The original game was then revamped and turned into
what it is now, we kept the name because the game has three main stories
to it, Ethreal's,
Julius's
and Clarity's.
The game is meant to be played three times in order to get the full
ending. EM3 is all about decisions made by the player, once you play
through the game once then the second play through will have carried
over effects from your first play through with a different party leader,
thus by your third game all of your party member decisions are set in
stone and you finish the game with all party members with all sorts of
different relationships. Some party members trigger huge story arcs and
some don't so you need to play with all of them in order to get the full
story to the game. However, to get every possible quest, event and
relationship among characters you would have to play through the game
several times.
EM3's story is very important to us, as is the leveling and battle
system. We are
doing our best to bring as much innovation into the game as possible. We
hope that the stories and characters will prove to be unique and
interesting. We've tried to come up with a very customizable way to
level your characters so that the player has full control over how their
main character and party members turn out through out the game. We
cannot wait to have everyone try it out!
